The 2023 Interior Design Trends We Love

As we move into a new year, new trends appear while others fall out of favour. Trends like floating shelves, shades of grey and large lighting fixtures all saw a rise in popularity in 2022 but are now on their way out. In this blog, we will be taking a look at some of the upcoming trends for 2023 that are our own personal favourites.

1. Warm, neutral, earthy tones

Deep, natural colours and tones are going to continue to increase in popularity through 2023. In particular, varying shades of warm pink and brown as they take over from the previous years of all-grey interiors. Natural colours, textures and other influences are replacing the modern trends we have seen recently. This will go hand in hand with the 70s revival that is expected to be on the rise in 2023. After all, interior design trends, just like fashion, are cyclical and all come around again at some point.

Our Jumbo Cord Corner sofa is a fantastic example of the types of tones that will take off in 2023.

2. Vintage pieces and styling

With 70s trends returning, there is no better way to achieve an authentic look than by buying vintage pieces! Sustainable interior design is more important now than ever before. Everything from investment pieces to vintage items and new products made from recycled materials will be utilised. Vintage furniture in particular has been a major social media trend in recent years, and the character that it adds to your home will continue to be recognised into 2023.

3. Confidence in colour

Although neutral tones are set to continue, use of bold and confident colours will also become popular. Bold and impactful shades will be a big part of interior design for those looking for more unconventional approaches to their interior design. This could be a unique ceiling paint, painted borders, interesting colours in your furnishings. You can create a variety of effects with this and make your space truly individual.

4. Accent Walls

Accent walls rose as a trend significantly in 2022, however we firmly believe that they are still in for 2023. However, only if done correctly. A unique wallpaper/texture that is similar in colour to your room is an effect way to make sure this works. Another popular way to create an accent wall is through paint. Anything from one colour through to interesting and detailed paintwork are options that can create a creative and distinctive appearance for your space.
